The Liberty Bell

The Liberty Bell was created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Pennsylvania Charter of Privileges, the democratic constitution that William Penn granted his colony in 1701. It cracked while being tested and after two attempts of recasting, success was achieved and the bell was hung in the State House tower where it was put into service. No one knows when the bell next cracked, but is said to have last rung formally on Washington's birthday in 1846. Easy to stitch, minimal backstitching.
