28 ct Evenweave

Hi Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!
I have started a new cross stitch. This one is done on 28 ct. Evenweave, I have heard that you need to stitch over 2 threads. This is the first time for me to stitch on evenweave. I have been looking everywhere for help on this. I think I have an idea on how its done but just need to make sure.
I am so use to 14 ct. that this 28 ct seems so small.

Thanks Denise

Re: 28 ct Evenweave

Does anyone know of an instructional video that would show what ya'll are describing? I'm a visual person and I think that if I see it I would understand better.

Stitching over two threads just means that your stitch will cover two vertical and two horizontal threads. It's exactly like stitching over the "square" on Aida.

I used evenweave 1 time and its not bad at all. I just prefer linen. You may find you like it better than aida cloth. Yes you do stitch over 2 threads.

Re: 28 ct Evenweave

I LOVE 28ct Evenweave! I even do projects that are made for 14ct Aida on it. To me, sometimes it is easier, but you have to get used to it.

Yes, you stitch over 2 threads...where you would normally count 1 hole yo count 2, when you have 2 blocks count 4 holes.

It's harder to explain unless you are looking at it while talking about it. But it is very simple once you get going. Just be careful make sure you picture the stitch in your mind as you are looking at your thread -- especially when you are skipping spaces. between sections where there is one row of stitches between there will be one hole visible and hwere there is 2 stitches there will be 3 holes etc. I know this sounds confusing but once you get into I think you will enjoy it.
