What do you do with your orts?

What do you do with orts (the little pieces of extra floss you always end up with while stitching)???

I've heard of a couple different ideas:

* Leave them out for the birds so they can create a bird nest. But, I also heard this was a bad idea because the threads hold moisture, which can cause mold issues.
* Fill clear glass ornaments.

I have also heard of filling an interesting shaped clear jar and leave out as a decoration. This is what I do now, but the jar is full! Now I'm trying to determine what else I can do with them... or do I just throw them out and start filling the jar all over again?

Any ideas are welcome!

Re: What do you do with your orts?

I haven't any ideas for orts, but was very interested in the idea of leaving them out for birds, as i love feeding them and it would be great to give them a hand with nesting. If I do find out another way of handling them I'll let you know!!
